Who are our Staff?
Steve Fern is the Campsite Manager. Steve became the
Assistant Manager in 1999, and took over as manager in 2005. Steve has
an extensive Scouting background starting at the tender age of 8 years
as a Cub Scout, and following Scouts, he took on Adult Leader positions
as Assistant Scout Leader, Venture Scout Leader, and Scout Leader.
Before joining the staff team, Steve volunteered on site as part of the
Den Service Teams and later through college spending many weeks on
site. In his spare time, Steve enjoys outdoor activities,
such as canoeing, climbing, cycling, and has taken up ballroom and
latin dancing.
Michael
White or Chalky as he is affectionately known around the Division.
Michael joined the staff team in 2006. Michael also has a great
Scouting history, since joining the Cubs and later Scouts, Michael
holds a Queen's Scout Award, and has held many Adult Leader positions
including Jamboree Contingent Leader and Venture Scout Leader.
Michael's university education is in Outdoor Management and as part of
this he spent many weeks volunteering on site, including the initial
construction of the Rifle Shooting Range. Michael's main hobby is
traveling, including over a year traveling the world.
The Campsite Assistant, Gary Watt, has worked at
Kibblestone
since October 2005. Gary first came to Kibblestone as a Scout,
and later to become a
member of the Service Team, and eventally a Den Team
Leader enjoying regular weekends in the Rover Den.
Gary followed on from Scouts by becoming an Assistant Cub Leader, a
position that he still holds. Gary's hobbies include cycling and dog
walking. Gary has also been known to go running around the lanes
surrounding the site.
