Spooky Halloween Weekend Camp
Scout and Guide Spooky Activity Camp

From Friday 17th – Sunday 19th October
Scouts get ready to get spooked!
Join us for a weekend of activities with more than a hint of Halloween!
Activities will include ropes, targets and teamwork – all with a spooky twist.
This is a fully catered, weekend event with all activities included. Scouts and Guides must be accompanied by leaders. Troops just need to bring their own tentage and personal equipment.
£50 per person. Leaders £25.
What you need to know
This is a weekend activity running from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The event will close at 2.00 pm.
The event is open to Scouts and Guides. It will give a great welcome to Scouts for Cubs linking.
The weekend will include 6 extended activity sessions with time between for refreshments and snacks. Plus an evening spooktacular!
The event is fully catered including supper on Friday night, breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
You need to bring camping equipment for your troop and each participant will need to bring personal equipment (bedding, crockery and activity clothing). Remember to pack water bottles (water is available). Beverages are available for leaders throughout the weekend. The site Shop will be open at times during the weekend.
Scouts must bring clothes suitable for outdoor activities including strong footwear (open toes or flip flops should not be worn). Please dress appropriately for the weather (keep warm and dry).
See our General Information for Attending Events at Kibblestone. For this event you must ensure you have adequate leader support for your group for an overnight event. This means there must be at least one adult or helper to 12 Scouts with a minimum of two, including the leader in charge.
You must complete a Nights Away Notification for your group and complete your own Risk Assessment for your party taking into account the special circumstances of your group (eg additional needs, transport arrangements).
Please take care when arriving and leaving Kibblestone – the car park can be a very busy place.

General Information for Attending Events at Kibblestone
You must ensure you have adequate leader support for your group. (see POR 4.3.10.8 b & c).
You must obtain the normal approval from your District Lead Volunteer (or whatever your local arrangements are) for an activity away from your normal meeting place (see POR 9.1.2.1).
You must complete Nights Away Notification if you are staying overnight (see POR 9.2).
You must obtain parental authority for your visit. If taking part in shooting activities you must have specific parental authority (see POR 9.11.5.5).
Remember the Scouts Yellow Card and Purple Card. Ensure everyone in your group knows who is the Leader in Charge and that you have an In Touch process in place.
We will complete Risk Assessments for all the activities we run. You must complete your own Risk Assessment for your party for your visit to Kibblestone, taking into account the special circumstances of your group (eg additional needs, transport arrangements) and any activities you organise (eg wide games). Remember that your Risk Assessments must consider “free time” too.
Please take care when arriving and leaving Kibblestone – the car park can be a very busy place. Ensure young people are escorted to/from a place of safety where there is leader supervision and do not assemble where cars are moving.
